Route description bee trail Campo di Trens
The bee trail to Valgenauna starts at one of the car parks around the pilgrimage church Mary Assumption in Campo di Trens.
Behind the nearby hotel Alla Posta, the hiking sign No. 2A indicates the entrance to the bee trail to Valgenauna. It first leads past a playground and individual houses and then continues through wide meadows and sparse groves along the edge of the forest.
Along the way, inspiring information boards tell interesting facts about the world of bees and beekeepers. For example, you can learn that 80 percent of the fruit in orchards is pollinated by honeybees, or that bees travel about 150,000 km to find the nectar for 1 kg of honey and visit about 10 million flowers.
If you look closely, you will also discover a beautiful fresco on a boulder at the side of the path, which shows the image of the Mother of God, the so-called "Trenser Muater".
After a good half hour of leisurely hiking, you reach the tranquil hamlet of Valgenauna. Here it is worth taking a short detour to the late gothic church of St. Valentine, which is perched on a hill with a great view.
The way back from Valgenauna to Campo di Trens follows the already known path. If you wish, you can also walk a few meters downhill in Valgenauna and return to Campo di Trens on the beautiful meadow path.
