Hiking to the Giussani mountain hut at the foot of Tofana

The Giussani mountain hut at the foot of the Tofana di Rozes and the Tofana di Mezzo is not only the starting point of beautiful hikes and climbs, but also a nice hiking destination in itself.

Route description Giussani mountain hut

The hike to the Giussani mountain hut starts from the parking lot next to the rifugio Dibona mountain hut, which is reached by an almost entirely asphalted forest road that branches off from the Falzarego pass road (Fedarola fork).

Behind the rifugio Dibona mountain hut, the initially wide hiking trail no. 403 branches off and a little later climbs in numerous switchbacks through the large Tofana scree cut between the Tofana di Rozes and the Punta Anna. On the way, remains remind us of the mountain warfare in the first world war, with its many losses.

After about 500 meters of ascent, the friendly people of the Giussani mountain hut welcome their guests in the heart of the Tofane. On the rock-framed terrace and in the cozy guest room, they serve hikers lovingly prepared traditional dishes. Combined with the breathtakingly beautiful view of the Travenanzes valley and the Tofana walls, a stop at the Giussani mountain hut becomes an unforgettable experience.

The way back from the Giussani mountain hut is the same as the way there.
