Hike Setsas Val Badia valley
From Corvara in Badia with the chairlift to Pralongia, on the Störes and the Setsas
The free-standing Setsas in the Val Badia valley dolomites is a first-rate panoramic mountain.
Directions hike Setsas
The hike to the Setsas starts at the valley station of the Pralongia chairlift in Planac, which is located between Corvara in Badia and the Campolongo pass. The chairlift first takes you comfortably up from 1,700 m to 2,030 m above sea level.
From the mountain station, the wide, sometimes somewhat steep hiking trail no. 25 leads to the Pralongia hill.
Near the mountain inn of the same name, the summit cross of Störes is already in sight, which is reached after about 15 minutes along hiking trail no. 24. On this cross adorned hill opens a picturesque view of the Col di Lana, the Marmolada, the Sella massif, the Sassongher, the Fanes group and our actual destination: the 2,571 m high Setsas.
Continuing to follow the signs n. 24 in the direction of this free-standing Dolomite peak, we hike in gentle ups and downs through the dreamy, flower-filled alpine meadows.
Gradually steeper and stonier, the path finally leads through the scree-, stone- and rock-strewn northern flank of the striking Setsas, next to whose summit cross a picturesque view of the towering Dolomites unfolds all around.
The way back from the Setsas is the same as on the way there, where you should not miss the stop at the Pralongia moutain hut.
Note Setsas hike
Setsas can also be hiked from Valparola pass or circumnavigated in a picturesque hike.
