Behind the idyllic alpine village of Fodara Vedla rises the Lavinores (Sas dla Para) with its great views. On this rather easy to climb summit in the Fanes-Sennes-Braies nature park, an unexpectedly far-reaching view of some of the most beautiful dolomite mountains opens up.

Route description Lavinores

The starting point of the hike to Lavinores is the Pederù mountain inn at the head of the Val di Rudo valley, to which a toll road leads from San Vigilio di Marebbe.

To the left of Pederu mountain hut, the steep gravel path no. 7, boldly cut into the rocks, climbs in numerous switchbacks towards Fodara Vedla.

Gradually becoming gentler, it finally merges with hiking trail no. 9. A little later you reach the picturesque alpine village of Fodara Vedla with the inviting Fodara Vedla mountian hut, behind which our actual hiking destination rises: the 2,462 m high Lavinores / Sas dla Para.

Continuing to follow signpost no. 9 , we walk from the Fodara moutain hut in the direction of Ra Stua. A few hundred meters later, a blue sign indicates the path that branches off to the right to Lavinores / Sas dla Para.

Although it is no longer signposted, the well-trodden path, marked with numerous cairns, is easy to find. It first crosses the grassy, scree- and stone-covered slopes at the foot of Lavinores in a gentle ascent.

On the east ridge it finally branches off to the right and climbs in front of the imposing backdrop of the Croda Rossa, the Cristallo and the Tofane over the grassy southeast ridge to the small summit cross of the Lavinores.

At an altitude of 2,462 meters, the view of the surrounding dolomite peaks is extensive: in addition to the peaks already mentioned, there is also the Croda Rossa and the Muntejela de Senes. At our feet are Cortina d'Ampezzo on one side and the two alpine villages of Fodara Vedla and Sennes on the other.

The descent from Lavinores is the same as the ascent.

Note on Lavinores

During the hike you cross the border between South Tyrol and Belluno. The Lavinores itself is already on the Belluno side.
