Störes San Cassiano hike
Hike from the cable car Piz Sorega near San Cassiano to the Pralongia moutain hut and on the Störes in Val Badia valley
The Störes, almost 2,200 m high, is not a mountain in the classical sense, but an elevation of the alpine ridge that stretches between the Campolongo pass and the Setsas. Not least because of its magnificent view, it is a worthwhile destination for excursions in summer and winter.
Route description Störes
The hike to the Störes starts at the car park of the cable car Piz Sorega in San Cassiano.
Following the wide hiking trail no. 22 , surrounded by woods and meadows, you first hike in a pleasant ascent to the popular Saraghes mountain hut. In front of the picturesque backdrop of the Kreuzkofel group, the La Varella peak, the Lagazuoi and the Setsas, after about an hour of leisurely hiking, the hut invites you to take a rest.
Continuing to follow path no. 22 in the direction of Pralongia, the hike continues on a mostly gentle ascent through the gentle alpine landscape adorned with picturesque wooden barns.
Finally, hiking trail no. 23 branches off to the left towards Pralongia. Near the mountain inn of the same name, the summit cross of the Störes already comes into view, which you reach via hiking trail no. 24.
A little later, on the Störes, a breathtakingly beautiful view of the Marmolada, the Sella massif, the Sassongher peak, the Fanes group, the Setsas and the Col di Lana unfolds. A lookout bench invites you to linger and enjoy this picturesque idyll.
The way back from Störes is the same as on the way there.
