The Rifugio Brogles mountain hut is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful mountain huts in the Dolomites: Framed by the graceful Grande Odla peak and the Seceda, it invites you to enjoy a stop in the middle of the flowery Brogles meadows.

Route description Rifugio Brogles mountain hut Ortisei

The hike to the Rifugio Brogles mountain hut starts at the small parking lot for hikers Runcata above Ortisei in Val Gardena (access via the Streda Cuca).

Always following path number 5 in the direction of the Rifugio Brogles mountain hut, the hike first leads up the asphalted street. A little later, a meadow path branches off on the left side of the road. Shortly after, the trail enters a shady forest, through which the path is sometimes steeper, but always on a pleasant incline.

After about an hour, it crosses the secluded Anna beck and offers the first view of the imposing rock faces of the Seceda. In front of this backdrop, the lovingly laid out path climbs to the upper forest border, behind which the picturesque alpine meadows of Rasciesa di Dentro extend.

Now the Brogles pass is not far away, from which the path descends to the now nearby Rifugio Brogles mountain hut. In the midst of the flowery Brogles meadows, at the foot of the Seceda and the graceful Geisler peaks of Val di Funes valley, it invites you to a pleasurable stop from the beginning of July to October (as of 2020).

The way back from the Rifugio Brogles mountain hut is the same as on the way there.

• If you wish, you can also take the Rasciesa funicular up to the Rasciesa alp and hike along the almost level panoramic path to the Brogles mountain hut.
