Ciavaz moutain hut hike

The Ciavaz Hut near Selva di Val Gardena could hardly be more idyllic: Against the backdrop of the massive Sella massif, it invites you to enjoy a stop amidst mountain-framed meadows. Children can also look forward to a fun playground.

Route description Ciavaz moutain hut

The hike to the Ciavaz moutain hut starts in Plan de Gralba near Selva di Val Gardena.

Following the hiking trail no. 657 pointing to the left in the direction of the Ciavaz mountain hut, the wide hiking trail winds its way steadily uphill through mountain-framed meadows over which numerous skiers glide in winter.

Behind a large reservoir, a picturesque view of the opposite Odle peaks, the massive Col dala Pieres and the craggy Cir peaks opens up.

Now the Ciavaz moutain hut is not too far away. After a short steep section, the trail 657B branches off to the right and, with a view of the Sassolungo, climbs past the baita Sole mountain hut to the Ciavaz hut, about five minutes away.

Amid idyllic mountain meadows , the friendly hut team spoils its guests with delicious South Tyrolean delicacies prepared from high-quality ingredients, ranging from the traditional Speckbrettl to homemade dumplings and Schlutzkrapfen to various grilled dishes. Lovers of sweet dishes, on the other hand, can look forward to tempting Kaiserschmarrn, homemade cakes and apple strudel.

While many an adult retires to sunbathe on the inviting deck chairs, children can let off steam to their heart's content on the fun-filled playground.

The way back from the Ciavaz moutain hut follows the already familiar outward route.
