Cima delle Pozzette - Hiking on Monte Baldo

This hike starts in Malcesine at the valley station of the cable car. With the cable car (funivia) you go up to the intermediate station S. Michele, then you continue with the next cable car to Monte Baldo.

At the Stazione a monte follow the signs n. 651 to Cima POZZETTE to the right, which is indicated with a walking time of one hour and 15 minutes. First, the path descends a few meters past the "Baita dei Forti", behind which the ascent begins.

After half of the way, you cross the border of the Natural Park "LASTONI SELVA PEZZI".

The entire hike is accompanied by a fantastic view of Lake Garda. A worthwhile photo motif are also the cairns. The path to the summit is almost impossible to miss, as there is only one path that leads to the destination. In addition, the red-white-red marking is constantly in sight.

It only gets steep in the final spurt, after scree and rock have replaced the narrow path in the middle of the mountain pine forest.

At an altitude of 2,131 m you finally arrive at the "Cima delle Pozzette". With good visibility, the view extends over the Dolomites and Lake Garda from Riva del Garda to Sirmione - a beautiful summit experience.

The way back from Cima delle Pozzette is the same as the way there.

Those who plan the tour on nice summer days should start early, otherwise long waits at the cable car station are inevitable.

Good footwear is recommended. The path has no extremely exposed parts, but between gravel, earthy paths and rocks surefootedness is required.
