Setsas hike
From the Valparola pass to the Setsas, the Dolomite peak with the 360° panoramic view of the Val Badia valley
An unforgettable panorama opens up on the free-standing Setsas in the Val Badia valley Dolomites.
Route description Setsas
The panoramic hike on the Setsas starts at the passo Valparola. There are several parking possibilities in the car park near the former fortress "Tre Sassi", which today houses a museum of war history.
First you walk along the road to the "rifugio passo di Valparola", where the path n. 23 starts.
After a few meters, hiking trail no. 24 branches off to the right in the direction of Setsas. It descends along the tree line through stony terrain into the hollow at Vallone Pudres.
After a short ascent, you reach a fork in the road, from where, following the signs for Setsas, it takes about an hour to reach the top of this panoramic mountain, from where you can enjoy a wide-ranging view of the surrounding mountains.
The way back from Setsas is the same as on the way there.
Notes on the hike to Setsas
The last meters of ascent to Setsas require some surefootedness, especially since they lead over rocky terrain and loose scree.
The Setsas can also be hiked from Corvara in Badia or circumnavigated in a picturesque hike.
