Rifugio Brogles mountain hut Ortisei hike

Around Ortisei in val Gardena valley numerous mountain huts invite you to hike and enjoy. One of them is the rifugio Brogles mountain hut at the foot of the graceful val di Funes valley Geisler peaks and the Seceda.

Route description Brogles mountain hut rasciesa funicular

The panoramic hike to the Brogles mountain hut begins at the valley station of the Rasciesa funicular in Ortisei, which takes hikers up to the Rasciesa alp in an eight-minute ride.

At the mountian statoin, hiking trail no . 35A branches off in the direction of the rifugio Malga Brogles mountain hut. It first leads to the nearby Cason Saltnerhütte, which invites you to take a first break after only a few minutes on foot.

Now following trail no. 35, the hiking trail leads partly level, partly in gentle ups and downs through the enchanting alpine landscape of the Outer and Inner Rasciesa. On the way, breathtaking views of the surrounding Dolomites open up, including the mighty Sella massif , the imposing Sassolungo massif or the Col dala Pieres. No less dreamy are the warm colors of the numerous rhododendrons, which make the alpine meadows glow from the end of May to July.

After a good hour of easy walking you reach the passo di Brogles pass, from where hiking trail no. 5 descends to the now nearby rifugio Brogles mountain hut. In the midst of the flowery alpine meadows of the rifugio di Brogles mountain hut, against the backdrop of the graceful Geisler peaks and the Seceda, it invites you from the end of June to October (as of 2020) for a delightful stop.

On the way back from the rifugio Brogles mountain hut you first follow the already known path to the passo di Brogles pass. At the top, this time keep to trail no. 5, which initially leads down through alpine meadows and later through forests and meadows to Ortisei.

As an alternative to the hiking route suggested here, you can also combine the hike to the Brogles mountain hut with the ascent to the Rasciesa mountain hut, which offers a great view. We also recommend the continuation of the hike into the val di Funes valley and the ascent from Funes to the rifugio Brogles mountain hut.
